The Cold Spring Silver Springers completed a league doubleheader sweep over the Becker Buzzards by winning game two by a score of 10-1 on Sunday afternoon in Becker.  The offense collected 14 hits in the game and scored eight runs in the fifth inning to aid in the win.  Andy Auger earned the win on the mound with six solid innings of work, allowing one run on four hits, three walks, and five strikeouts.

Scoring Summary:

The Silver Springers scored first with two runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 2-0 lead.  Mike Arnold walked; Todd Steil singled; Greg Terres singled home Arnold; and Auger singled home Steil.  Becker cut the lead in half with their lone run in the bottom of the inning, but the Silvers sent twelve men to the plate and ereupted for eight runs in the top of the fifth inning to blow the game open.  Rod Schafer walked; Derek Falde singled Schafer to third; Schaefer scored and Falde went to second on a wild pitch; Greg Bemboom walked; Chad Hess walked to load the bases; Arnold doubled home Falde and Bemboom, with Hess going to third on the play; Steil struck out, but reached first on a passed ball while Hess scored and Arnold moved to third; Greg Terres walked to reload the bases; Brent Schloe singled home Arnold; Auger hit a sacrifice fly to score Steil; Troy Schroeder singled home Greg Terres; and Schafer singled home Schloe to make the final score 10-1 in favor of Cold Spring.
