The Cold Spring Silver Springers defeated the Class C Farming Flames 7-5 in an exhibition game Sunday afternoon at Springer Park in Cold Spring.  The offense collected 13 hits in the game while four pitchers combined on the mound to hold the Flames in check.  Tim Martin was credited with the win while Dave Hinkemeyer picked up the save.

Scoring Summary:

Cold Spring jumped out to a quick lead with three runs in the bottom of the first inning.  Greg Terres walked; Rod Schafer singled; Greg Bemboom singled to load the bases; Ron Terres grounded out to score Greg Terres; Andy Auger grounded out to plate Schafer; and an error off the bat of Todd Geislinger scored Bemboom.  The Flames responded with three runs in the top of the second inning to tie the game at 3-3, and then took the lead 4-3 with a run in the top of the third inning.  However, the Silvers came back with two in the bottom of the third to reclaim the lead.  Ron Terres walked; Auger singled; Geislinger walked to load the bases; and Martin singled home Terres and Auger to make the score 5-4.  Farming tied the game again with a run in the top of the fourth inning, but Cold Spring rallied for two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good.  Todd Steil doubled and then went to third on a wild pitch; Greg Terres walked and stole second; and Schafer singled home Steil and Terres.  Neither team would score after that as the Silvers went on to win the game 7-5.
