The Cold Spring Silver Springers salvaged a split with the Lakeville Lobos by winning the second game of their non-league double header 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at Springer Park.  The Silvers pounded out 15 hits in the game while Tim Martin threw six strong innings for the win on the mound.  He allowed one run on seven hits and walked one.

Scoring Summary:

Cold Spring scored four runs in the top of the first inning to take a 4-0 lead and never looked back.  Rod Schafer walked; Derek Falde singled; Greg Bemboom walked to load the bases; Chad Hess doubled home Schafer and Falde; Mike Arnold walked to reload the bases; and Ron Terres singled home Bemboom and Hess.  The Silvers added two more runs in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 6-0.  Andy Auger singled; Martin singled; Troy Schroeder reached on a fielder's choice to advance Auger to third; Falde singled home Auger; and Bemboom singled home Schroeder.  Lakeville scored their lone run of the game in the top of the third inning to cut the lead to 6-1, but Cold Spring added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.  Greg Terres doubled; Brent Schloe singled home Terres; Auger singled Schloe to third; and Martin singled home Schloe to make the final score 8-1 in favor of the Silvers.
