The Cold Spring Silver Springers completed a league doubleheader sweep over the Fort Ripley Silver Rebels by winning the second game 5-0 on Sunday afternoon at Springer Park.  The offense picked up nine hits in the game while Andy Auger and Todd Steil combined on the shutout, the team's second of the day.  Auger picked up the win, allowing now runs on five hits, two walks, and four strikeouts.

Scoring Summary:

Cold Spring scored twice in the bottom of the first inning to take a quick lead, and that proved to be all they'd need to win the game.  Greg Terres doubled and stole third; Greg Bemboom doubled home Terres; and Chad Hess doubled home Bemboom to make the score 2-0.  The Silvers added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to pull away for good.  Terres reached on an error and stole second; Steve Huls singled Terres to third and then stole second; Bemboom grounded out to plate Terres; Hess singled Huls to third and then stole second; and Steil singled home Huls and Hess to give Cold Spring a 5-0 victory.
