The Cold Spring Silver Springers improved to 4-0 with a 3-0 exhibition victory over Class C St. Wendel on a very windy Sunday afternoon in St. Wendel.  The offense sputtered a little in only collecting seven singles on the day, but the pitching and defense were excellent in picking up the team's first shutout of the season.  Russ Huls picked up his first win of the season on the mound with six strong innings of work, allowing no runs on just two hits, one walk, and three strikeouts.  Todd Steil earned his first save of the season with a 1-2-3 seventh.

Scoring Summary:

Cold Spring got on the board with two runs in the top of the first inning for a quick 2-0 lead.  Greg Terres walked and came around to score on three wild pitches; Chad Hess walked; Mike Arnold walked; and Derek Falde singled home Hess.  The Silvers added an insurance run in the top of the fifth inning when Todd Van Erp singled, Huls walked, and Steil singled home Van Erp to make the final score 3-0 in favor of Cold Spring.
