The Cold Spring Silver Springers scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat the Luxemburg Brewers 3-2 in an exhibition game Wednesday night at Springer Park.  Trailing 2-1 going into the inning, the Silvers had three walks, a wild pitch, and a clutch, game-winning RBI-single by Tim Martin to pull out the victory.  The offense collected only six hits in the game, but the defense and pitching were solid as four pitchers combined to help Cold Spring on the mound, with Dave Hinkemeyer picking up the win.

Scoring Summary:

Luxemburg got on the scoreboard first with a run it he top of the third inning for a 1-0 lead, but Cold Spring was able to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Chad Hess struck out, but reached first safely on a wild pitch; Mike Arnold walked; Todd Steil singled to load the bases; and a double play groundout plated Hess to make the score 1-1.  The Brewers reclaimed the lead at 2-1 with a run in the top of the sixth inning, but the Silvers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game.  Steil walked; Andy Auger walked; Todd Geislinger walked to fill the bases; a wild pitch advanced all three baserunners, with Steil scoring on the play; and Martin singled to score Auger and give the Silver Springers a 3-2 walk-off win.
