The Cold Spring Silver Springers were defeated 1-0 by the Shakopee Chiefs in the Class AA bracket of the 2015 MSMABA state tournament in Jordan on Sunday night.  After ouscoring their opponents 14-0 through the first three games of the tournament, the only run Cold Spring would allow turned out to be just enough to seal their fate.  The offense only had four hits in the game, but Joe Kounkel was his usual self on the mound.  He pitched the complete game, allowing one run on nine hits, one walk, and three strikeouts.

Scoring Summary:

Shakopee scored the only run of the game with two outs in the top of the first inning after two singles, a double play, and a rare wild pitch.  Cold Spring threatened several times during the game, including the bottom of the fifth inning when they had runners on first and third with nobody out, but failed to score as they were shut out for only the second time all season by a score of 1-0.
