The Cold Spring Silver Springers advanced to the semi-finals in the Class AA bracket of the 2015 MSMABA State Tournament with a nail-biting 1-0 victory over the Waconia Islanders on Sunday afternoon in Cologne.  The offense only mustered five hits in the game, but some good old-fashioned small-ball led to their only run.  Andy Auger was brilliant on the mound as well, scattering six hits, one walk, and four strikeouts to earn the complete game shutout victory.

Scoring Summary:

Cold Spring scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Todd Geislinger led off with a double; Brent Schloe sacrificed him to third; and Greg Bemboom hit a sacrifice fly to score Geislinger.  Waconia had runners on first and second in the top of the seventh inning and looked like they were going to at least tie the game with a broken bat blooper down the right field line, but Todd Van Erp made a running, over-the-shoulder catch from second base to seal the 1-0 win for the Silvers.
