The Cold Spring Silver Springers traveled to Burnsville on Sunday and defeated the Bulldogs 7-3 in a 9-inning exhibition game at Alimagnet Park.  The offense pounded out 16 hits while three Silver Springers pitchers held the Burnsville offense in check.  Russ Huls started and went three innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits and two strikeouts; Andy Auger pitched the next three innings, allowing no runs on two hits and was credited with the win; and Jake Eichten pitched the final three innings for the save, allowing two runs on four hits, and a walk.

Scoring Summary:

Burnsville took a 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the second inning, but Cold Spring tied the game in the top of the fourth inning when Bob Kleefsaas singled, Bill Theis bunted him over, and Greg Bemboom singled him home.  The score remained 1-1 until the top of the seventh inning when the Silvers scored three times.  Bemboom singled; Rod Schafer reached on a bunt single; Greg Terres doubled home Bemboom and Schafer; and Auger doubled home Schafer to give Cold Spring a 4-1 lead.  The Bulldogs responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to make the score 4-3, but Cold Spring came right back with three more runs in the top of the eighth inning.  Todd Geislinger walked; Todd Van Erp singled; Tim Martin sacrificed both runners up a base; Geislinger scored and Van Erp went to third on a wild pitch; Theis singled home Van Erp and then stole second; and Bemboom singled home Theis to make the final score 7-3 in favor of the Silver Springers.
