The Cold Spring Silver Springers defeated the Minnetonka Lakers 4-1 in an exhibition game on Saturday in Minnetonka at Big Willow Park.  The offense managed just four hits in the game, but the defense and pitching held the Minnetonka offense in check.  Andy Auger earned the win on the mound with six strong innings, allowing one run on five hits and two walks.  Todd Steil pitched a perfect seventh inning for the save.

Scoring Summary:

Cold Spring jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning after Steve Huls walked and Greg Bemboom hit his second home run of the season.  The Lakers responded with a run in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead in half, but the Silvers came right back with two more runs in the top of the second inning to make the score 4-1.  Mike Arnold walked; Derek Falde walked; Todd Geislinger walked to load the bases; Todd Van Erp singled home Arnold; and Bob Kleefsaas hit a sacrifice fly to score Falde.  Neither team would score after that, and Cold Spring held on for the victory.
