The Cold Spring Silver Springers completed a league doubleheader sweep of the Fort Ripley Silver Rebels by winning the second game of the day 14-1 at Fort Ripley.  The offense continued to produce by collecting 16 hits, while Russ Huls and Dave Hinkemeyer shut down the Silver Rebel offense on the mound.  Huls picked up the win by allowing one unearned run on two hits, one walk, and a strikeout over three innings.  Hinkemeyer finished the game with two innings of work, allowing no runs on two hits, one walk, and one strikeout.

Scoring Summary:

Cold Spring jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after scoring three times in the top of the first inning.  Bill Theis doubled; Greg Bemboom reached on an error; Theis stole third and Bemboom went to second on the throw; Greg Terres doubled home Theis and Bemboom; Mike Arnold singled Terres to third and then stole second; and Todd Steil grounded out to score Terres.  The Silver Springers tacked on five more runs in the top of the sixth inning to extend their lead to 8-0.  Derek Falde singled and then stole second; John Theis reached on an infield single to advance Falde to third, and then stole second; Bembbom singled home Falde and John Theis; Chad Hess singled; Terres tripled home Bemboom and Hess; and Arnold singled home Terres.  Fort Ripley scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the second inning with the help of a Cold Spring error, but the Silver Springers came right back with three runs in the top of the fourth inning.  Bemboom singled; Hess doubled; Bemboom scored and Hess went to third on a wild pitch; Terres walked; Arnold hit a sacrifice fly to score Hess; a wild pitch advanced Terres to second; Steil singled Terres to third; and Brent Schloe singled home Terres to make the score 11-1.  Cold Spring added three more runs in the top of the fifth inning to put the game out of reach and win the game via the 10-run rule.  After Bemboom reached on a fielder's choice, Hess walked; Terres doubled home Bemboom and Hess; and Arnold doubled home Terres to make the final score 14-1.
