The Cold Spring Silver Springers lost their first league and second overall game of the season 4-1 to the Alexandria Classic Clippers in the second half of their league doubleheader on Saturday afternoon in Alexandria.  The offense only mustered five hits while Alexandria took advantage of a tough-hop Cold Spring error as well as some timely hitting.  Russ Huls took the unfortunate loss on the mound, allowing three unearned runs on six hits, two walks, and four strikeouts over five innings of work.

Scoring Summary:

Cold Spring got on the board first in the top of the third inning for a 1-0 lead, but that would be their only run of the game.  Brent Schloe singled, stole second, went to third on a sacrifice bunt by Jake Eichten, and scored on a groundout by Derek Falde.  Alexandria responded with three unearned runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 3-1 lead, added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning, and never looked back as they won the game 4-1.
