The Cold Spring Silver Springers won the second game of their trip 'Up North' by defeating the Menahga Relics 5-3 on Saturday afternoon in Menagha.  The Silvers had to battle strong winds blowing throughout the game as well as overcome a late 3-1 deficit.  The team collected 10 hits in the game and Andy Auger picked up the complete game victory on the mound by allowing two earned runs on five hits, two walks, and three strikeouts.

Scoring Summary:

The Silver Springers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning after Bill Theis singled, stole scond, went to third on a single by Greg Bemboom, and scored on a groundout by Rod Schafer.  Menahga tied the game with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning and then took the lead 3-1 with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, but Cold Spring responded with two runs in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game again at 3-3.  Schafer doubled; Greg Terres reached on an error; both runners advanced on a groundout; Auger later walked to fill the bases; and Derek Falde came through with a clutch, two-out single up the middle to score Schafer and Terres.  The Silvers reclaimed the lead in the top of the seventh inning when they scored twice, and they were able to hold on for the win from there.  Theis reached on an infield single; Bemboom doubled home Theis; Schafer sacrificed Bemboom to third; and Todd Geislinger doubled home Bemboom to give the Silver Springers a 5-3 victory.
