The Cold Spring Silver Springers completed a league doubleheader sweep of the Becker Buzzards on Saturday afternoon, winning the second game 14-2 at Springer Park.  The offense collected 15 hits in the game, including 10 in the first inning alone as the Silvers put up 13 runs in the frame.  Tim Martin picked up the complete game victory on the mound by scattering four hits, one walk, three strikeouts, and two unearned runs.

Scoring Summary:

Cold Spring exploded for 13 runs on 10 hits in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back.  Greg Bemboom singled and then stole second; Steve Huls reached on a bunt single that advanced Bemboom to third; a wild pitch scored Bemboom and advanced Huls to second; Mike Arnold singled home Huls and later stole second; Andy Auger was hit by a pitch; Derek Falde reached on an infield single that loaded the bases; Todd Geislinger singled to score Arnold and Auger; Todd Van Erp walked to load the bases again; a wild pitch scored Falde and advanced Geislinger and Van Erp up a base; Martin was hit by a pitch to fill the bases; Darren Heying walked to force home Geislinger; Bemboom singled home Van Erp and Martin; Huls doubled home Heying and moved Bemboom to third; Arnold singled home Bemboom; Greg Terres doubled home Huls and advanced Arnold to third; and Auger singled home Arnold and Terres to make the score 13-0 after one.  The Silvers added one more run in the bottom of the fourth inning when Auger singled and Geislinger doubled him home or a 14- lead.  Becker scored both of their runs in the top of the fifth inning with the help of two hits, a walk, and a Cold Spring error, but it wasn't nearly enough as the game ended due to the 10-run rule with the Silver Springers winning 14-2.
